Watanabe Shuzoten Tasting

The brewery is located in Furukawa-cho, Hida City, in the northernmost part of Gifu Prefecture, in the Furukawa Basin surrounded by mountains such as the Northern Alps and the Hida Mountain Range, which are over 3,000 meters above sea level. Surrounded by rich water sources and forests, the town brews its representative brand "Hourai" and its back brand "W" in the cold climate of one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan. The streets of Hida Furukawa have a magnificent elegance and old-fashioned character. The townscape of Hida Furukawa has a magnificent elegance and antiquity, and because it is not touristy, you can feel its unspoiled appearance, expression, and even personality," said writer Ryotaro Shiba ("On the Road"). Ichinomachi, with its rows of old merchant houses with demarcated wooden doors, has a serene appearance, and the Setogawa River, with its rows of storehouses with white walls and black hipped walls, still exudes a tranquil atmosphere.-www.sakenomy.jp

EN CAVALE TASTING + CASA DE KEI

It's always a party when En Cavale is in the house. Wolfgang Weber, one half of the fabulous duo, will be here pouring their wines and chatting it up with all of you. We love these wines so much that Angel has a tattoo of the label on her arm — can't get a higher seal of approval than that!
These wines + Kei’s food. Triple chef’s kiss to the heavens.

KOME COLLECTIVE BREWER TASTING w/ Special Guest John Gaunter + CAsa de kei

Come join us for a very special night where we'll be hosting not one but three brewers along with the world's leading non-Japanese sake expert, John Gauntner. We'll be pouring flights all night, but you can meet John and the makers from some of your favorite breweries in person at Millay from 6:30-8pm.

You'll get to meet representatives from:

  • Rihaku Brewery (Shimane Prefecture), the makers of Dreamy Clouds, the nigori with the 59% milling rate you all go nuts over

  • Kawatsuru Brewery (Kagawa Prefecture), creators of the 'olive sake' that's easily recognized on the shelf and pairs perfectly with your favorite slice of Outtasight Pizza

  • Takatenjin Brewery, whose Sword of the Sun has been featured in our sake club in the past and who also craft the exquisite Soul of the Sensei Junmai Daiginjo

We'll be featuring a special flight with a sake from each brewery, complemented by delicious food from Casa de Kei.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to deepen your sake knowledge with true masters of the craft.
